one wants to think about death. Least of all, we do not want
to think about our own death. But in order to fully protect
our cat companions, we should not only think about our deaths,
but what would happen to our cat if we should die unexpectedly.
Unless
preparations are made in advance, pets are placed in shelters
when they are displaced. Suddenly, without their loving owners
and finding themselves in a frightening environment, cats
become despondent and in some cases stop eating and drinking
altogether.
Some
olders pets are fortunate and are taken home by good people
that will care and love them for their remaining years. But
there are never enough of these good homes available. And,
unfortunately, most shelters can only keep animals for a certain
amount of time, so in many situations these abandoned pets
are put down.
To
prevent your cherished cat from enduring a lonely and frightening
situation in an animal shelter, please make arrangements now.
Make sure that your cat has a good home waiting in the event
that you are unexpectedly taken out of its life.
